11. Ascending Infections

Even other organs can be damaged! Vagina, uterus and tube form an open channel and lead to the abdominal cavity; therefore an infection can expand to the organs of the pelvis.
During pregnancy and childbirth an unhealthy vagina can cause complications not only for the mother but also for the baby. Men's abdominal cavity is not open to the outside world!
Premature births and abortions are frequently the consequences of ascending infections! With vaginal infections also the risk of childbed fever grows.
Those pathogenic germs that are ascending from the vulva and vagina are essentially responsible for cystitis and nephritis. The very short female urethra is concurrently causative.
